A Smarter, Friendlier Way to Train After 40
Hi, I’m Michael.
I’m a coach in my 60s, which means a few things:
I’ve trained a lot of bodies
I’ve seen a lot of bad fitness advice
And I know that yelling at people doesn’t fix sore knees
I’ve spent over 15 years helping adults move better, get stronger, and feel good in their bodies — without beating themselves up in the process.
I believe workouts should challenge you, not scare you.
And yes, we’re probably going to laugh a little along the way.
How I got here (short version)
I didn’t start M Factor Fitness to build the toughest workouts in town.
I started it because I kept seeing the same pattern:
People over 40 were trying programs that weren’t built for them — and paying for it with pain, frustration, or burnout.
So I built something different.
Something that:
Respects joints
Prioritizes movement quality
Keeps people consistent
And fits real life (jobs, families, golf games, and the occasional creaky morning)
Over time, I realized something important:
When people feel safe, they show up.
When they feel capable, they keep going.
What it’s like to train with me
Here’s what clients usually tell me:
“The thing I like about working with you is I can lift weights and not keep getting hurt.”
“I didn’t think I could do that.”
“That actually felt good.”
“I was nervous, but this makes sense.”
“I didn’t even realize we were working that hard.”
We take training seriously — but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
You’ll work.
You’ll move.
You’ll probably laugh at least once.
And you’ll leave feeling better than when you started.
My training philosophy (no buzzwords)
I believe:
Smart beats hard
Consistency beats intensity
Joint health matters more than ego
Feeling better is the goal — strength is the tool
You won’t hear me say “just push through it.”
You will hear me say “let’s adjust that.”
Progress shouldn’t feel like punishment.
Who I work best with
I’m a great fit if you:
Are over 40
Want to stay active long-term
Have dealt with aches, stiffness, or setbacks
Prefer guidance over hype
Appreciate a coach who explains why, not just what
