Get back in the game

Ready To Get Back In The Game?

Am I really the last person you want to see?

I always joke I am the last person people call when they want to get in shape. And that is because it is true. I realize you will try everything else before thinking about hiring a personal trainer. Don’t worry, I am not offended.

This is human nature, especially if you were in shape before. The logical thing to do is go back to what you know. So why doesn’t that work? Isn’t that bizarre? I wish I had an answer for you but I don’t.

Example: You could go on a Keto diet and lose twenty pounds. Life happens and you gain the weight back so you get back on the Keto diet. Nothing happens. I can’t explain it.

The same thing happens with bootcamps, dvd’s, rec centers etc…

Don’t look at this as a bad thing, it is life. What you need to know is that the rules changed on you and you need to get updated.

Here are a couple reasons why you are having problems getting back in shape.

  • You body has changed. A fifty year old body is not going to look or move like your twenty year old self. Deal with it.
  • Most likely you have spent a couple decades doing a lot of sitting. Combine that with muscle atrophy and you have a recipe for a list of aches, pains and tight muscles. I can help you fix that.
  • You are now an adult with a lot of crap to take care of. You have other human beings to look after, a career, mortgage, yard work, etc… You are busy and it is easy to put fitness at the end of the list. I can give you accountability.
  • You don’t know how to work out. But don’t worry, you probably never knew how to. You were young so you could get away with it. Youth is very forgiving but after forty…forget about it.

Am I making any sense here?

So if you want to get back in the game it makes sense to get a trainer who knows how to work people over forty…like me. I specialize in this.

M Factor Fitness is built around three core principles and if you follow them you will look and feel years younger.

Undo the effects of sitting, looking at a computer and past injuries.

This is where corrective exercise and mobility come in. I will show you how to break up knotted muscles and get rid of aches and pains.

If you can’t move correctly, you can’t lift weights correctly. You are just going to hurt yourself.

Get a full range of motion in your joints.

You can’t stretch a tight muscle but you can certainly work on flexibility and balance through exercise. Avoid machines like the plague. They will not help flexibility. I have my clients work with dumbbells, kettlebells, bands, TRX and bodyweight exercises. Don’t let this stuff scare you, most of my clients never worked out this way and they adapted.

Strength Training

Once we get you loose and moving properly, we can now strengthen the muscles to hold your body in the right positions.

This is all done each session in a progression. Trust me, it works.

What about Weight Loss?

I didn’t mention that, did I?

I know that is the number one reason people hire a personal trainer but hear me out.

Everyone I have ever trained who wanted to lose 10-20 pounds never kept it off. Why? Because once they lost the weight they met their goal and went back to the same bad habits. Dieting is a waste of time.

Instead of dieting, invest in yourself and make your body healthy, strong and flexible. Do that and you will notice that any excess weight will come off without you worrying about it. Not only that but you will notice you can live a normal lifestyle. No one wants to eat carrot sticks  and drink water at a Christmas party. No One. That’s not living. Don’t do that to yourself.

If this makes sense to you, maybe M Factor Fitness is the way for you to get back in the game. We will never know until we talk about it. I offer a free 30 minute consultation to see if this is right for you. Fill it out and I will get back to you.
