I am sure there are some people out there who think if you ingest an apple that still has pesticides on it you are accomplishing 2 things:
1. The apple is free of bugs.
2. The pesticides will clean out any bugs you have as it works it’s way through your system.
If only it worked that way. Look at it this way, your body views pesticides as a poison…well because they are. Even if it is a minute amount, the body still has to figure out what to do with it. To fight it, the body will attack it with an inflammation response. Chronic inflammation is the major culprit of modern diseases such as IBD, Cancer, heart disease. The list goes on and on.
So even if you eat your fruits for your health, what else are you ingesting?
That is the big issue so please try to buy organic when you can. Yes, I know the fruit is smaller and more expensive. I think it is worth it if you can minimize your health risks down the road.
P.S. if you are the kind of person that would rather listen to me rather than read, then you need to get in on my podcast. The M Factor Fitness Funkcast. 30 minutes of fitness stuff, goofing around and general good times. Get it here on Itunes or here at podbean.com
