It’s Not About Biceps and A Six-Pack!

Biceps and a six-pack…is that really want you want?

M Factor Fitness

This is way marketers sell fitness. Having biceps and a six pack means that you are in shape, undeniably sexy and attractive to the opposite sex and the world is yours for the taking.

But is that really what you are looking for?

My feeling is the fitness industry is way off base when it comes to marketing to adults. Male teenagers seem obsessed with watching videos of guys with their shirts off and critiquing their abs. That’s a kid thing. I think a lot of adults buy into that because that is what they think fitness is. But what does this really mean in the grand scope of your life?

That’s where we start talking about the big “Why”.

“Why do I want to get in shape?”

Trust me, getting in shape is hard work. If you don’t have a good “Why”, it just isn’t going to happen.

Let me state for the record, I train adults. Adults, to me, are 35-75.

I prefer that age range because people tend to know their “Why” and are ready to make a change.

We all are getting older. And as you get older, it is not a crime to want to stay as active as possible for as long as possible.

“I have worked hard all my life and now I am older, I want to enjoy it.”

That is a powerful “why”.

What is your “why”?

  • I want to play golf without my back hurting.
  • I want to keep up with my kids/grand kids.
  • When I get out a chair, I don’t want to be bent over.
  • I want the strength and energy to do the things I want to do.
  • I am sick and tired of being on a diet all the time. I just want to eat normally.
  • I want go to a concert at Red Rocks and not worry about getting up the stairs.
  • I want to run a 5K but I haven’t run in years.

Let’s get you healthy, Moving better and feeling better.

Then we can worry about biceps and six-packs.

Please realize that personal training is an investment in the quality of your life.

You may be at the point in your life where things have gone fairly well. Maybe you raised a couple kids and now they are off to college or starting on their own lives.

All of a sudden you now have time for yourself and you come to the realization that maybe you can’t do the things you want to do.

In fact, you find yourself taking things off your bucket list because you think you are too old.

Let’s do something about that.

My training is based of fixing aches and pains, getting you flexible and getting you strong.

  • It is safe.
  • It is effective.
  • It will give you the results you want.

At 53, I am in the same boat as you. Getting and staying in shape gets a lot harder but it isn’t impossible.

I use these techniques on myself and they work. In fact, they keep me in the game.

I like to think of my training as a guidebook for getting older.
